JUNIORs - Update on upcoming events

Dear Parents

Half the year has already passed and we are already coming into the second half of the year.  We thank God for His faithfulness and how He has seen us through each of our Saturday parades!

A few important updates for the rest of the year:

 

1.  24th June 2017 Parade Off

There will be NO parade being Raya Holidays.  We wish everyone a good break.

Parade will resume on 1st July 2017.

 

2.  15th July 2017 PBC Carnival Day

There will be NO Parade due to Pantai Baptist Church having a Carnival Day from 9am-4pm.

in celebration of its 60th anniversary.

We encourage our members to join and support this momentous event where it will be a day of fun, food and games and etc.

Coupons are available for sale.  You can enquire about its purchase with Mdm Olive.

 

3.  19th Aug 2017 E&A Day (Enrolment & Awards Day)

This is our yearly important event where our members are enrolled into the company and awarded their

badge(s) earned.  July and August are crucial months where members are being tested for what they have been

taught (some has already completed their tests).  Please ensure attendance and encourage your child to revise their badge lessons as badges are only

awarded to members who has passed their tests, assignments and drill.

 

4.  Calender

5.  Leave Forms

Please ensure your child hands in his/her leave form(s) once they are back for parade so we can update our records accordingly.  Reminder that attendance is an important requirement in Boy's Brigade.

Bukit Gasing Hike 

Please note that we will be taking a hike up to Bukit Gasing this coming Saturday, 10th June to get you accustomed to your loaded backpack, your shoes and your fitness level up and down the hill. We will meet as usual for parade time from 2.00 - 6.30pm. Dress code for parade will be sports/hiking attire (you do not need to come in mufti or uniform) with sports/hiking shoes but please no revealing clothes.

We will split the section into Platoon 1 and 2. Platoon 1 will head up to Bk Gasing using the counter clockwise Southern route while Platoon 2 will take on the clockwise Northern route. There is a map of Bk Gasing attached here so please do take a look at them and be familiar with the place especially the terrain. Click on this link.

Platoon 1
Head to the Main Entrance into the nature park south of the playground
Head towards Checkpoint 1 - the Watch Tower
Proceed northwards pass the "Killer Stretch" and loop down to the suspension bridge
Exit from the Northern exit near Jalan 5/17
Head back to 22 in PBC

Platoon 2
Head to the Northern entrance by Jalan 5/17
Head towards the suspension bridge and loop up towards the "Killer Stretch" 
Head south towards the Watch Tower
Head down and out from the South Main Entrance
Head back to 22 in PBC

Things to bring:
- Backpack
- 4 x 1.5L water bottles (soft drinks, mineral water etc) If you don't have we have some extra in the BB room
- Drinking water bottle(s) (bring sufficient water cuz it's gonna be very hot)
- Towel
- Poncho
- Cap/hat
- Your shoes you are planning to wear to hike into the camp
- One full set of dry clothes, towel, shoes etc in the event you get all soaked in the rain (to be left behind in 22)

I would suggest bringing 2 bags along, one for the hike and the other to leave at No.22 with the rest of your items.

COMPANY: LT Loh Meng Hoi's Wake and Funeral

Members, please take note of the details regarding Sir Loh's wake and funeral:

Wake Services : 
Wednesday (5/4) and Thursday (6/4) at 8pm at Pantai Baptist Church, Lot 8 Jalan Pantai 9/7 PJ. 
Dress code: Smart Casual or Formal (NO BB uniform)

Funeral : 
Friday (7/4), 10am at Pantai Baptist Church. Cortege will depart for Subang Luther Garden. Transport would be provided both ways. Lunch would be provided back at Pantai Baptist Church after. 
Dress code: BB Ceremonial

This Saturday's parade on 8th April will be called OFF for the whole Company. We will resume parade on 15th April.

COMPANY: The Demise of LT. Loh Meng Hoi

We are deeply saddened and shock to announce the demise of our dear LT. Loh Meng Hoi who have gone back to be with the Lord on 25th March 2017. He passed on from a heart attack while in Melbourne with the family. Please keep his family and the Company in prayers and we will share the wake and funeral details once it is available. 

For the members who are grieving, do please reach out to any of the officers if you need any help or just a shoulder to lean on or a heart to listen to yours. Do keep each another in prayers. Take care and God bless.
